Disaster Recovery

Disaster RecoveryA Leica ScanStation laser scanning the remains of the I-35W Mississippi River bridge, an eight-lane, steel truss arch bridge that carried Interstate 35W across the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It collapsed during the evening rush hour on Aqugust 1, 2007.

Many agencies acquire the Leica ScanStation as part of an overall regional response strategy to respond and recover from disasters. The ability to assess structural damages to a community’s key infrastructure is just another example of the versatility of the ScanStation.
