When crime scene investigators were called to process the scene of a man shot to death in northwest Bloomington, Ill., in late October 2018, they brought a new piece of technology with them: a Leica ScanStation Pro Series 3D laser scanner. “The big advantage it gives us is that it combines the image with very precise measurements,” a Bloomington crime scene technician told The Pantagraph.
