Joel Panock of Precision Simulations was doing a 3D laser scan of a scene with the Leica ScanStation PS40 when the unthinkable happened: The scanner fell onto the pavement. The carrying handles snapped off, and the exterior of the unit was scratched. But when Joel started up the scanner to check its calibration, he was surprised at what he discovered.
